Site crippled

Due to the fact that my hosting provider encountered some trouble s with their PHP configuration my site is now crippled. Various plugins no longer work, including my own Mobypictures plugin. Also WordPress is no longer able to upgrade itself or to install plugin updates. So far my provider at least informed me about their problems. The email I received however contained the line “… Verder dient u bestanden en directory,s welke schrijfbaar moeten zijn aan te passen naar de rechten 777. …” Which translates more or less into “set permission level to 777 for files and/or folders to which write-access is requried.” Yeah, right! Everybody warns no to use permission 777 because it is BIG security issue.

Thus the reason why this site behaves oddly – for now. (I hope)

I am interested to see how other people have implemented the plugin on their website. So if you want, please leave a comment with your feedback. Don’t forget to fill in your website’s url! Just found this very cool widget: PHP Code Widget

The normal Text widget allows you to insert arbitrary Text and/or HTML code. This allows that too, but also parses any inserted PHP code and executes it. This makes it easier to migrate to a widget-based theme but the fun part is, together with the Mobypicture plugin it enables you to include multiple Mobypicture streams in your sidebars. Just like I included the public stream.

Install both widgets and then include the same Mobypicture php code you would use to include the a Moby stream in a post or page.

Mobypicture v1.2.2 uploaded

Version 1.2.2 of the Mobypicture plugin has been uploaded to the WordPress Plugin Directory. The reported bug has been fixed. Any combination with ‘Use cropped images’ and/or ‘Use linked images’ selected now works as expected. Secondly, this version has been tested with WordPress v2.8 as well.
